If you love Jesus, and you’re a student at the University of Manchester (or about to be), you can be part of the Christian Union. If you want to know more about what CU is and what we believe before you come along, check out the questions about CU pages, or alternatively just get yourself and some friends to one of our events. CU can sometimes look a bit scary to Christians from the outside, but we think you’ll find we’re a pretty friendly bunch and that we’d love to have you get involved with us!

One of the most important things anyone can do for the CU is pray. Jesus said in the Bible, ‘apart from me you can do nothing’, and we take him at his word. Ultimately, we’re wasting our time if God’s not involved in what we do, changing people’s hearts and lives. We send out periodic emails with news to feed your praises and prayers. The University of Manchester CU is part of uccf:thechristianunions, which in turn is part of IFES. In other words, we’re part of something massive and global. Yet in every location you can find them in the world, you’ll discover that CUs are passionate about the local church and passionate about world mission. If you’re a leader of a church or missions agency and would like to partner with the Christian Union, email info@umcu.org.uk to let us know. You might find it helpful to think about what it means to partner with a CU and check you agree with what we believe first.

The best way you can give to CU is through your time (if you’re a student) and prayers. However, mission weeks, events, speakers’ expenses, free copies of Mark’s Gospel... none of them come for free.
